Mitsubishi L200 restoration: The perfect hunting vehicle.

Brand: Mitsubishi

Model: L200

Engine code: 4D56 (2477 cm3)

Power: 85 kW (114 PS)

Fuel: Diesel

Production year: 2002

The owner of the Mitsubishi is a long-time, returning, valued customer. He approached us with the brief to carry out a complete refurbishment of his hunting truck, and to design and manufacture a swivel hunting shooting stand for the top of his pick-up.

The refurbishment process is progressing nicely, with the vehicle going through every stage of the complete process. (You can read more about our restoration service here.) The project is now well past the stage of complete disassembly and troubleshooting, and most of the parts procurement.

The sandblasting and rust removal of the chassis has also been completed and it is now in a condition ready for hot dip galvanizing. The paintwork on the bodywork is now half-finished, with one or two rust spots still to be removed, before preparation for painting can begin.

The engine overhaul is nearing completion. At the moment the control and fuel system still need to be assembled, for which we are waiting for the overhaul of the fuel dispenser.

The rest of the drivetrain and the complete chassis are already disassembled and sandblasted and await the next steps, which will be the repair, painting and assembly of any components.

As with our previous off-road project, the Mitsubishi was not left with any loose joints undisassembled: the fasteners will be reassembled after cleaning and galvanising one by one.
